An object $Y \in \operatorname{\mathcal{C}}$ is initial if and only if it is initial when viewed as an object of the $\infty $-category $\operatorname{N}_{\bullet }(\operatorname{\mathcal{C}})$. Similarly, an object $Y \in \operatorname{\mathcal{C}}$ is final if and only if it is final when viewed as an object of the $\infty $-category $\operatorname{N}_{\bullet }(\operatorname{\mathcal{C}})$.
