A formal nitpick (sorry for that): for the implication (2)(1) you do a proof by contradiction by assuming that (2) holds but not (1). The proof ends by showing that (1) holds anyway. However, you should point out that this contradicts the assumption to finish the proof.

Instead of a proof by contradiction, I would advocate for a direct proof, invoking Corollary 5.4.1.17 to do a case-by-case study.
