This corollary implies that the functor from the category of simplicial sets to the category of categories sending a simplicial set to its homotopy category is left adjoint to the nerve functor .

However, the proof given in the above link doesn't explicitly use the fact that is left adjoint to .

So I wonder: does the proof use implicitly?

I'm confused.
