If $U$ is fully faithful, then $F$ is $U$-left Kan extended and $U$-right Kan extended from any full subcategory $\operatorname{\mathcal{C}}^{0} \subseteq \operatorname{\mathcal{C}}$ (see Example 7.1.5.4).
