Then the collection of $n$-truncated objects of $\operatorname{\mathcal{C}}$ is closed under retracts. Similarly, the collection of $n$-truncated morphisms of $\operatorname{\mathcal{C}}$ is closed under retracts in $\operatorname{Fun}( \Delta ^1, \operatorname{\mathcal{C}})$.
